Sunday Soul Bites #1 - Trusting His Timing + Gut Healing Favorites

The Verse That’s Been On My Heart

Isaiah 66:9 (NIV) — “Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord. “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God.

Holding Onto Truth in Hard Seasons

If you’ve been here a while, you know I’ve been in the thick of a healing season — not just physically, but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

It’s why I started Feed Your Soul Sari five years ago. I wanted a space where I could pursue healing, rebuild trust with food, and hold onto the kind of life God was calling me to — one rooted in freedom, not fear.

My relationship with food and my body has deep roots. I developed an eating disorder my senior year of high school — in the middle of grief, loss, transition, and anxiety. In a world that felt out of control, food became the thing I clung to.

That spiral stole a lot — health, relationships, peace. But God. He held me through every dark moment, carried me through recovery, and led me into this life I never thought I’d get to live — one where I can enjoy food, build a business I love, and walk in the fullness of His grace.

When Healing Isn’t Linear

And yet — healing isn’t linear.

This past October, life flipped again — wisdom teeth removal, antibiotics, illness, a cross-country move — and my body crashed. Gut issues, SIBO, H. Pylori, histamine sensitivities… layer upon layer of new challenges.

This verse has been my anchor: God does not bring us to pain without purpose. He does not bring us to the edge of delivery and leave us there.

He is faithful to complete the work He begins — even when the timeline is longer than we hoped. Even when healing looks different than we imagined.

Why I Keep Showing Up Here

That’s why I keep showing up here — not just to share recipes, but to invite you into the real behind the scenes: the beauty and the battle of rebuilding peace with food and body, of leaning into grace over perfection, of trusting Him every step.

If you’re walking through it too — you’re not alone. And you are held.

If you enjoyed this reflection, you can get the full version of Soul Bites delivered straight to your inbox every Sunday — with extra gut-friendly recipes, tips I’m loving, and little encouragements from my own healing journey.

Welcome to Soul Bites — a weekly space I created to share simple, soulful reflections, gut-friendly recipes, and life behind the scenes of Feed Your Soul Sari.

This space was born from my own healing journey — and a desire to create a cozy corner away from the noise of social media, where I could encourage and nourish others walking their own path.

Each Sunday, I’m going to send out a full Soul Bites email to my subscribers — with personal reflections, gut-healing tips, faith-based encouragement, and all the little wellness practices that are helping me right now. Most of all, I hope these Soul Bites remind you that you are not walking your healing journey alone.

This post is just a small excerpt from the first issue. If you’d like to receive the full version each week (with even more recipes, resources, and honest behind-the-scenes shares), I’d love to have you join us: HERE
