Sunday Soul Bites #3 - When You Don’t Feel Strong
I’m not checking out, but letting God check in.
Laying down with worship music playing, letting God speak more than my thoughts do.
The Verse That’s Been On My Heart
Psalm 46:1 (NIV):
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Not was or will be. Is. Right now. In this very moment.
I was originally going to do this Soul Bite on the topic of food freedom/fear, but I’m 3 weeks post Rifaximin treatment for SIBO, and my body is going through a whole recalibration period, trying to regain it’s footing after a long 7 months of inflammation, sickness, symptoms. Lets just say it’s thrown my mental health off a bit, and I felt called to share something else.
Rest that feels like refuge.
I think healing, especially post-trauma or chronic illness, often becomes this constant performance of “I’m okay now.” But refuge isn’t performance. It’s permission.
Permission to rest.
Permission to not push.
Permission to be soft and still be held.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re carrying a little too much…maybe this is your sign to let God carry you instead. He is your refuge today
If you enjoyed this reflection, you can get the full version of Soul Bites delivered straight to your inbox every Sunday — with extra gut-friendly recipes, tips I’m loving, and little encouragements from my own healing journey.
Welcome to Soul Bites — a weekly space I created to share simple, soulful reflections, gut-friendly recipes, and life behind the scenes of Feed Your Soul Sari.
This space was born from my own healing journey, and a desire to create a cozy corner away from the noise of social media, where I could encourage and nourish others walking their own path.
Each Sunday, I’m going to send out a full Soul Bites email to my subscribers — with personal reflections, gut-healing tips, faith-based encouragement, and all the little wellness practices that are helping me right now. Most of all, I hope these Soul Bites remind you that you are not walking your healing journey alone.
This post is just a small excerpt from the first issue. If you’d like to receive the full version each week (with even more recipes, resources, and honest behind-the-scenes shares), I’d love to have you join us: HERE
